THE PROBLEM

We know a thing or two about anxiety. PPE requirements in healthcare create a more impersonal experience, which can be very scary for patients of all ages.

Visiting a hospital, doctor or dentist for the first time is already an anxious experience for many patients, which has only been compounded by COVID-19.

At Shield Pals, we're developing solutions that gamify patient engagement, while alleviating anxiety.

SHIELD PALS

SOLUTIONS

Once you integrate our Shield Pals characters throughout the entire patient experience, you can personalize that experience for each individual patient!

Do they like panda bears, dogs, unicorns, robots...? Match our character face shields to a fully integrated patient journey that starts with our Augmented Reality (AR) and face capture app to create engaging videos and games for appointment reminders and the waiting room, all the while developing familiarity with the characters worn by your staff!

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

A friend of mine is a pediatric nurse practitioner at John Hopkins in the oncology department. Just the words pediatric oncology break my heart. When I saw a picture of her wearing one of the animal shields, I reached out to see if the shield was provided by the department and if more were needed. She had purchased it from you, the other nurses did not have them, and she mentioned that the children love her shield.

She also told me that just that day she was assisting with a spinal on a 7 year old. Because of COVID restrictions, the parents could not be with the child. The child was very upset, but lit up and immediately stopped crying when he saw my friends shield.

Hearing that story motivated me to raise money for a bulk purchase for her department. The fundraiser was a success, and we were able to give shields to all the nurses in her unit as well as nurses in other pediatric units.

Thanks to you all for creating this product, putting smiles on kids’ faces, and keeping our health professionals (and others) safe.

Thank you!

Jessica
